A handful of thrill-seeking ride enthusiasts braved high-speed twists and stomach-churning drops as they test-drove the country's tallest and fastest roller coaster today at Canada's Wonderland.

The Behemoth, the theme park's latest addition, boasts peeks as high as 70.1 metres and can reach a speed of 125 kilometres per hour in less than four seconds.

It takes roughly three minutes to blast through the ride's eight dramatic drops, three horizontal loops and countless twists.

The $26-million ride is the park's 15th roller coaster and its single biggest investment, according to the company.

The roller-coaster opens to the public on May 4.
