Inqlings: Hollywood moves in to Rittenhouse Square
House sellers generally tidy up before a prospective buyer visits.
Not at 2032 Delancey Place, near Rittenhouse Square. The 5-bedroom, 51/2-bath, which developers are offering for $4.85 million after a six-month renovation, has been home since last week to the production of the romantic comedy The Dream of the Romans. Filmmakers redreckorated the snazzy rowhouse to fit the messy, freewheeling lifestyle of costar Jeff Daniels' character, Arlen, a wealthy author living as a hermit for 10 years. Lauren Graham costars. Realtor Micki Stolker of PruFox-Center City says a client the other day saw through the Hollywood touches - but was puzzled at signs pointing the way around the house: elevator, closet, kitchen, etc. The signs were props, too. Location manager Staci Hagenbaugh called the deal with Acorn Property Development "a blessing" because the showhouse came furnished and because occupants would not have to be relocated. Acorn's Steve Shapiro says producers contributed to his pet charity, the Philadelphia Committee to End Homelessness. Shooting wraps tomorrow, and the house should be restored by the end of next week. Scenes for the 1983 Eddie Murphy movie Trading Places were shot at the other end of the block.
TV landEyebrows shot up Tuesday night as Kerri-Lee Halkett - and not Fox29's regular prime-time anchor team of Dawn Stensland and Dave Huddleston - solo-anchored the primary-night newscast. Such a show usually requires the main anchors' presence. A station spokeswoman called Tuesday's newscast an extension of the weekly half-hour primary segment "Battleground Pennsylvania," which rising-star Halkett and reporter Bruce Gordon hosted.A recent Center City sighting of 6ABC alumna Michele McCormack, now anchoring in Milwaukee - interviewing? "I'm excited that people are excited about seeing her and working in the city," said her agent, David Brunner, "but at this time I have nothing to report."
Strip warsThe strip club Rick's Cabaret (2908 S. Columbus Blvd.) grand-opens tonight with guests from Howard Stern's media universe. Could be why Delilah's is advertising counter-programming: shows by adult-film star Katie Morgan tonight through Saturday.
Briefly notedLarry Farnese, who won the First District State Senate primary, was greeted for lunch at the Palm yesterday with a standing ovation.Tennis announcer Ted Robinson will jet in from San Francisco to participate in the 25th anniversary Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education Gala benefit tomorrow at the center in East Falls. Fine Living Network's series All Girl Getaways premieres at 9:30 tonight; in one segment, some Massachusetts women take a road trip to Philly. If the 10th anniversary is tin and the 15th is crystal, what's proper for the 22d - when the couple has everything? A stogie. East Falls' Harry Jay Katz, who attended the April 26, 1986, nuptials of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, decided that a giant prop cigar he found at Bala Cynwyd's SJ Cigars would do. He and his girlfriend Debra Renee Cruz had it packed off last week for Sacramento.
