ROVE
That cheeky little Aussie blighter Rove McManus is back to host more interviews, live performances and comedy segments as he and his team roll out another season.
Rove has long been an Aussie favourite, picking up gongs for best TV show and top personality over the years. With the help of sidekick Pete Helliar and a host of stand-up comedians, Rove promises to tickle your funnybone just as hard as he has done in previous years. News presenter and interpreter Carrie Bickmore is back, as are comedians Hamish (Blake) and Andy (Lee), Ryan Shelton and Dave Hughes, who all get to go off on their own tangents. Luckily for Rove, Melbourne forms a minor loop on the celebrity circuit so he has a steady stream of celebrity interviewees. It also helps that he's got a jokey, non-confrontational style that sets the famous faces at ease. Rather than probing their personal lives, he asks fun questions such as his standard "Who would you turn gay for?" or if the interviewee is gay, "Who would you turn straight for?" Last season he managed to snaffle Vince Vaughn, Adam Sandler, Missy Higgins, Delta Goodrem, Cameron Diaz and Robin Williams. And this first show of the new season begins with actor Jodie Foster making an appearance, as well as comedian Ross Noble, who is familiar to comedy audiences over this side of the ditch.
