Bellevue police say two officers were slightly injured early Wednesday morning when a man attempted to steal their patrol car. A 22-year-old Enumclaw man was arrested early Wednesday for investigation of third-degree assault, attempted car theft and resisting arrest. According to a news release, 37-year-old Officer Tyler J. Cornmesser and 30-year-old Officer Darin Karosich were on traffic control for road work when a man walked out of Overlake Hospital after being committed. He passed the officers, turned and went back, then suddenly opened the driver's door of their police cruiser and put it in reverse. Cornmesser was knocked down and Karosich was dragged a short distance, twisting his knee, but they managed to stop the car and arrest the man. Both were treated at the hospital and released.
