A finalised plan to split Telecom into at least three separate divisions may provide better and cheaper internet and phone services for most consumers, according to industry groups.
The plan breaks Telecom into network, wholesale and retail divisions.
Under the plan Telecom has committed to rolling out the fibre optic network to the bulk of New Zealand by 2012, with penalties if it fails to comply.

Now you have three CEOs all expecting CEO pay, plus their assistants. Then they'll sack all the remaining staff to cut costs, and hire them back on contract.
Telecom should loose the lines, then it's just a telco like all the rest. This new scheme seems way too complicated.
